China's Dedicated Tanker Transportation Company
CS Tanker (China Shipping Tanker Company Limited) was established in Shanghai in November 2013 as a wholly-owned subsidiary of China COSCO Shipping Corporation Limited — purpose-built to handle tanker transportation and serve China's national energy security needs.
Built for Tankers. Built for China's Energy Future.
CS Tanker (China Shipping Tanker Company Limited) was established in Shanghai in November 2013 as a wholly-owned subsidiary of China COSCO Shipping Corporation Limited. Unlike a diversified shipping conglomerate, CS Tanker was created with a single, clear mandate: dedicated tanker transportation.
This focused identity sets CS Tanker apart. Every vessel, every team, every system is built around tanker operations — crude oil VLCCs and LNG carriers that connect China's refineries and import terminals to the world's major energy production regions.
In 2019, CS Tanker completed a comprehensive reform of its vessel management system, implementing a unified fleet operation framework that went live on February 1, 2019 — enabling centralised and optimised allocation of resources across the entire tanker fleet.

Strategic Refocus on Energy Shipping

Contra-Cyclical Capacity Expansion
In March 2020, the parent company completed the non-public issuance of 730,659,024 A shares, raising RMB 5.1 billion — a successful contra-cyclical, low-cost capacity expansion that strengthened CS Tanker's fleet investment capability.
Share Capital Increase
The parent company exercised early redemption of its 2011 Convertible Bonds. Conversion and redemption ended in February 2015, leading to an increase of 627,480,591 A shares. Total shares increased to 4.032 billion: 2.736 billion A shares and 1.296 billion H shares.

LNG Business Entry
The parent company acquired China Shipping LNG Investment Company Limited from China Shipping Group, establishing the foundation for CS Tanker's LNG carrier operations.
Shanghai IPO
The parent company made an IPO in Shanghai with issue of 0.35 billion new shares, establishing the dual A+H share listing structure that underpins CS Tanker's corporate governance today.
China Shipping Group Established
China Shipping Group was established in Shanghai on July 1, 1997 — the corporate ancestor of China COSCO Shipping Corporation Limited, CS Tanker's ultimate parent.
