CS Tanker Fleet Achieves Zero-Observation SIRE Inspections Across 12 Vessels

CS Tanker is proud to announce that 12 vessels in our fleet have achieved zero-observation SIRE inspections in 2023.
CS Tanker is proud to announce that 12 vessels in our fleet have achieved zero-observation SIRE (Ship Inspection Report Programme) inspections in the first half of 2023. This outstanding result reflects the dedication of our vessel crews and shore-based technical team to maintaining the highest standards of safety and operational excellence.
What is a SIRE Inspection?
The SIRE programme, administered by OCIMF (Oil Companies International Marine Forum), is the most widely used vessel inspection programme in the tanker industry. Inspections are conducted by trained inspectors on behalf of oil companies and charterers, covering all aspects of vessel safety, operations, and crew competency. A zero-observation result means that no deficiencies were identified during the inspection — an exceptional outcome that reflects the highest level of operational readiness.
Our Safety Culture
The zero-observation results are the product of CS Tanker's deep commitment to safety culture. Our HSEQ team conducts regular internal audits and pre-SIRE inspections to ensure vessels are always prepared. More importantly, our crews are trained and empowered to identify and resolve potential issues proactively, rather than waiting for external inspectors to find them.
Near-Miss Reporting Programme
A key element of our safety culture is our near-miss reporting programme, which encourages all crew members to report near-miss incidents and unsafe conditions without fear of blame. In 2022, CS Tanker received over 340 near-miss reports across the fleet — a number we regard as a positive indicator of a healthy safety culture, not a cause for concern.
Statement from the COO
"Twelve zero-observation SIRE inspections in a single year is an exceptional achievement, and I am enormously proud of our crews and technical team," said Maria Papadopoulos, Chief Operating Officer. "This result is not an accident — it is the product of years of investment in training, systems, and culture. Safety is not something we do because we have to. It is who we are."
